Angela + Kyle’s
Forrest Wedding

I met Angela at a market as well (where I meet most brides I suppose!). Her and Kyle came to see me at Meanwhile Brewing one day while I was doing a pop-up with Austin Flea. We chatted about her ideas briefly before taking to instagram to carry on most of our conversations!

Angela is originally from Guatemala. To honor that, she and her bridesmaids were all going to wear traditional Rebozo Shawls. These shawls are multi-colored with colored pom poms on the ends, and her Aunt was set to bring them to the states in a few weeks. In order to carry over the colors, and compliment the bridesmaids, she wanted the groomsmen to have matching boutonnieres for each shawl. We communicated a lot over Instagram, and she sent me many photos and inspo, and even a few of her own drawings she did. In the end I was able to match all of the shawls almost exactly and Kyle picked the finished products up from me before heading up to Tunxis Pavilion in Farmington, CT for their wedding.

She also wanted to honor her dog, who recently passed. So when Kyle stopped by my work to pick up the order, he brought it with him and asked if I could affix it to the bouquet. An avid dog lover, I didn’t hesitate, and so her (furry) best friend was able to walk down the aisle with her, in spirit, on her special day

Step-by-Step, how we made her day.

Angela went above and beyond to make sure I had all of the tools I needed to make her the perfect bouquets. She sent photos of the shawls with colors of the pom-poms so we could drill down on colors.

She sent me the color pallet of all the shawls combined, and I sent her pictures of the flowers I had chosen to make her bouquet

Once I got color approval, I got to work. A little too much backlight from my iPad but I tried to get a picture of the boutonniere with the color pattern of each shawl.
