Chia Seeds | The High Priestess

$7.00

Chia plants were valued by Aztec & Mayan civilizations because of their multipurpose qualities including chia seeds which are known for their rich nutritional content. As The High Priestess Card emphasizes hidden potential, ancient wisdom & transformation, tiny chia seeds grow quickly into superfood powerhouses that bridge the past into a nourishing present. Chia grows in a bush like habit and is drought tolerant. Can be grown in containers or directly in the garden. Annual in Zones below 8.

Envelope contains 4.6 grams of seeds. About 2330 Seeds per pack.

SUN NEEDS: full sun (min of 6 hours).
PLANTING DEPTH: surface - do not cover
SPACING: 18-24" apart
GERMINATION: 3-14 days
MATURITY: 100-120 days
PLANT HEIGHT 24"-48"
SOIL TYPE: well draining
HARDINESS ZONES: 3-10
SUPPORT NEEDED: none
Scientific Name: Salvia hispanica

Instructions: Sow seeds into a sunny area in the spring after threat of last frost has passed. Press into soil. Keep soil moist until germination. Harvest seeds when flower heads are dry and brown when they have fully matured and formed seeds.

Growing Microgreens:

Moisten soil or growth medium, spread the seeds evenly over the growth surface. Lightly press to smooth evenly. Use a sprayer and mist the seeds with water until growing medium is damp. Cover for 1-3 days. Check soil daily to ensure it is moist.

Uncover and place in a well-lit area. They prefer 12 hours of light per day. Mist the seeds gently but thoroughly. The soil should be moist but not waterlogged.

Chia microgreens grow quickly and should be ready to harvest in about 7-14 days when they reach about 2-3 inches in height.

Rotate your microgreens crop to prevent greens from bending toward the light and becoming leggy.
